  • It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted but now I’m thoroughly caught up in the throws of Star Wars mania so I have to let it out some way. Thursday, like many other fans I hunkered down to watch the trailer on FOX. I never felt so old as when I was watching The OC, but that’s another story. Right after it was over my girlfriend and I turned to each other. We didn’t even need to discuss it, she picked up the remote and replayed it right then and there. The second time through we saw the end credits where they said it was going to be shown as a preview all weekend long with the movie Robots, so everyone knows what we did today.

I’ll settle for this last movie being half as good as the previews  make it seem.

  • Okay, so the blonde from Law and Order is leaving the show. We all knew it. They put her at odds with her boss and her boss fires her. A well and good way to write her off the show. When she looked her boss in the eye and asked if it’s because she was a lesbian I almost fell out of my chair. Never had they mentioned that that I have seen on the show. Did I miss an episode? The next best thing was the reaction of her boss. He must have said no fifteen different ways.

  • Today my brother's Mother in-law passed away. She had cancer for a while so everyone is saying that it's for the best, and she's not in pain anymore and all that. People say that but personally I think I'd be far too wussy to be brave about dying.

Aside from that for a Monday, today wasn't too bad at all. Short weeks are a great thing!

Somehow I went all of last week without watching the daily show so I had two hours of Jon Stewart to watch today, that was fun. God bless Tivo. I can't wait to see what he has to say about the basketball fight that happened this past weekend. I couldn't believe how many different cliche tag lines they could come up with for it. 'Basket Brawl' sounds like a pretty fun video game to me.

  • Went out last night to my second airing of an Exhumed Films presentation. These guys pick out old and bad horror movies that they have on film. I love most of the bad movies that they play but they have a rule that you aren’t allowed to talk over the movie. That’s a tall order with how much MST3K I watch.

They played The Mansion Family and Race with the Devil. Don't waste your time with The Mansion Family unless you like lots and lots of blood. There are plenty of naked hippie types though so that kept me from walking out at least.

Race with the Devil was awesomely bad. I was a bit depressed though. From the title I was expecting a movie where the Devil was driving and the main character was in the passenger seat racing somewhere. The better name would have been Race FROM the Devil because our heroes spent the whole movie running away. That title wouldn’t have been accurate either though since the Devil was just about never brought up. ‘Race from people who may worship the devil’ would have been the best title…

    The film broke a couple times so it was funny as the sound wound down a n d   g   o t      v     e      r      y           s      l     o    w

Anywho, I’m off to see The Incredibles tonight and now I’m suddenly POed. My girlfriend wants to see it but also we heard that the trailer for the next installment of Star Wars is being shown with some of the showings so I call both local theaters to find out if one of them for sure is airing the trailer, neither of them could be bothered to get an answer to my question. One even hung up on me when I asked if there was anyone there that she could ask like a manager. Why is it that no one cares anymore about customer service, grrrr….

  • Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve made an entry but I read a story that totally inspired me today. Kmart is buying Sears. Now at first this doesn't mean much, but I soon realized that this is the best merger that could ever happen. If KMart is smart, when they rename the new company we could all soon be hearing, "Shop smart, shop SMart."

  • Awwww yeah. I am watching the Indiana Jones Marathon on Sci-Fi and just saw the long commercial for Battlestar Galactica coming in January. It looks very cool. I so did not want to enjoy the updated version but after the first night I was all jazzed up. In the last scene of the trailer you see old school Apollo, I’m glad he wormed his way in there. He’s been trying to reinvigorate the franchise for years now.

  • Whew, it’s been quite a while since I’ve written. I’ve been in one of those moods I get in sometimes so I didn’t feel like putting my depression into words. Things are better now though, cause it’s football season!!! I love fantasy football, it’s the closest I get to playing a sport. Well, one where you sweat anyways. There are some people that think poker and pool is a sport.

I saw a commercial for MST3K essentials DVD on Comedy Central the other day. It was great to see them on TV if even only for a minute.

I was shocked at something the other day, I was lucky enough to get a gmail account and my name for a user name was already taken. I was stuck using my middle initial too :( The biggest shocker was I tried to get ‘bigmclargehuge’ and it was already gone!!!! AAArrrggggg!! How many damn Misties are there out there anyways??

There’s a funny looking movie coming out on the 24th, I think from England. It’s called ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and it seems to be a total spoof on Dawn of the Dead but it seemed really funny. I need a good laugh so I’ll probably check it out.

  • Boy oh boy, how the hell do you break a bad mood that has lasted a week when you’ve already tried all the usual stuff that works? I’m having a crappy time in work. I just can’t get my current assignment finished correctly. Can we say uber frustrated? Ahh well, at least I won’t get fired… most likely.

So aside from work not much has been going on. I did keep going to the gym so that’s something good that came out of this week. I didn’t die on Friday the 13th either, that was good too. I don’t say that because I am superstitious, I say it because a big assed black SUV spun out in front of me on the interstate and almost rolled right in front of me.

Next weekend I get to go to the big city, yahoo! (Read that last word with a hint of sarcasm. I don’t like cities. Too many damn people.)

Hopefully this week will get better… I doubt it could get much worse.

  • I finally got to go to the gym today, yea for me. I've been pissing away money there by having a membership and not going so I'm glad.

We watched all kinds of award winning cinema last night: Queen of the Amazon, The Wild Women of Wongo, MST Version of Teenagers from Outer Space, Reefer Madness, The Angry Red Planet and The Slime People. It was both a fun AND painful night ;)

Now I'm off to watch my three Netflix films for the weekend. I can't wait to see if Barbarellas holds up to the quality of the original movie.
